Cased 1914 Iron Cross 2nd. Class
This is a different sort of black leatherette
case with a mother of pearl snap and hinge which are free from any damage and
work perfectly. The case is free from any damage but does have some small
residue where a price sticker was, it should clean easily. The fabric
underside of the case top is free from any damage but has a couple stains along
the left and right boarders. There are two straps that hold the ribbon in
place. The Iron Cross does have what looks like a makers mark but I cannot
make it out. The core is magnetic with nearly 100% of the paint on both
sides and beautiful uniform patina around the frame and beading.

soldiers are not just for kids, folks from 9 - 90, buy sell and trade them. Most
are very difficult find in any sort of displayable condition due to the amount
of play they received. During the period of the Third Reich a child may
have one or two if they were lucky, and they played with them until the soldier
was just a lump of metal simply because there was little money for their parents
to buy them more. Some of the most popular toy soldiers were those of the
peoples heroes. Today I am offering (1) Benito Mussolini and (1) Adolph
Hitler and I suppose they are high enough in rank to qualify for "Hero Status at
the time." What is so impressive about these (2) is they are authentic and
still have ≈ 95% of the original paint and show very little play.
Mussolini was made by Elastolin and Hitler has a makers mark I am unfamiliar
with. Both are made from non-ferrous metal, and to err on the positive we
have to assume the paint contains lead so they would not be safe for a child.
Both are ≈ 8.2 cm in height. Excellent -

- 1935, overall height is ≈ 5.3 cm in height. Safety Pin type hinge is
100% solid and functional. Gold wash has thinned and is off on the raised
