Cased German  ( 585 ) 14 Kt.   Garde Du Corps Stickpin

One of the finest stickpins to ever reside in my collection.  Words like exquisite, beautiful, superb craftsmanship, striking detail and remarkable are all very true on this period patriotic stickpin.  This type of workmanship cannot be duplicated by today's craftsmen.  The whole stickpin is near perfect except for a bit of enamel wear at the 11 O'clock - 1 O'clock position.  This was made for a "well heeled" member of the Garde.  I am certain it was expensive at the time it was made and it may have been made for one of the Aristocrats Family Members.  The overall width is ≈ 1.9 cm.  The case would be perfect except for a slight stain on the outer case top.  Please click up the thumbnail photos and you will see more then I can describe at 5 - 10 times larger ---  Excellent ++  Fantastic !

Veteran's Association  1870 - 1871 Franco Prussian War

Stamped metal veterans pin for Franco Prussian War Service.  Patriotic & Vets pins from this period are rare and seldom encountered.  The award is made from a silver washed metal and measures ≈ 3.0 cm across and ≈ 3.5 cm in height.  The belt surrounding the 1879 Iron Cross has Veteranan's Verein ( Veterans Association ) stamped around the circumference.  Correct pin, hinge and clasp are 100% solid and functional.  This pin would look exceptional in any medal grouping and especially one with an 1870 Iron Cross.    Very Good
