HJ Cased Gold Grade “B” Proficiency Badge
Hitler Youth Award for competition in several sporting and conditioning events, complete with the original LDO Case. The black leatherette case has some separation on the top case edges, easily repaired should the new owner desire. This type of case does not have a button and catch just a hinge which works perfectly and is 100% solid and functional. Interior fabric is clean and intact no tears or separation. The badge it self has some of the original gilding and lacquer in the low areas the black enamel under the Swastika and between the inner circle and outer wreath is free from cracks, damage or any imperfections. The Pin, Hinge and Clasp are 100% solid and functional. The overall height is ≈ 5.0 cm in height and ≈ 4.0 cm in width. This is the "B" award meaning the recipient came in a little low on total score but still qualified for the Gold Grade. RZM Marked M1 / 101 ( Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirchen ) . This badge would make a wonderful addition to any collection. Very Good +

Potsdam Badge Silver Grade
I place the Potsdam Badge in the same category as the Gau Munich Commemorative Badge of 9th November 1923 & the Nuremberg Party Day Badge Of 1929. I feel these (3) badges are under valued and difficult to locate. All (3) were awarded for various milestones of the NSDAP but each in a different way. The Potsdam Badge came in both Silver Grade and Bronze Grade, I cannot find any significance to one over the other. We are pleased to offer this silver grade Potsdam Badge today and hopefully you will agree it is a significant award for the Hitler Youth. The badge is ≈ 48 mm in height and ≈ 23 mm in width. It is solid and manufactured from a non ferrous material. The reverse of this badge is painted gray and has a safety pin type catch affixed to the reverse with a welded disk. This badge was manufactured by HOFFSTÄTTER BONN and it is also GES. GESCH. Marked. The front of the badge has an N on one side of the Sword Grip and an S on the other side. Stamped vertically on left side side of the Sword Blade is I. REICH'S and on the right side of the Sword Blade it is stamped JUGENDTAG and the date 1932 ( National Socialist 1st National Youth Day 1932 ). This badge has nice uniform darkening to the front surface which only enhances the overall definition of the Sword, Wreath and Swastika. The award was given for participation in the "great" rally of HJ & BDM on 2nd October 1932. Now picture this more than 100,000 HJ and BDM marching in the rally in Potsdam. The Rally started at 11:00 AM and it took seven hours to past the saluting base. I am certain there was a ton of propaganda points chalked up for the NSDAP at that rally.
