Early War Eagle Patriotic Necklace

Patriotic jewelry was truly an art form of the WW I German Jewelers, they were exceptional craftsmen and their creations general had an Iron Cross motif.  This example also has the Hohenzollern Crown and Eagle.  The pendent portion is ≈ 3.2 cm in width and ≈ 4.4 cm in height.  The oak leaf surrounding the Eagle is the German Symbol for strength.  A shield bearing the dates 1914 - 1915 is mounted on the Eagles Chest and a small Enamel Iron  Cross is held by the Eagles talons.  Above the Eagles head is a most intricate Hohenzollern Crown.  This beautiful pendent is made from 800 Silver and stamped on the reverse, all of the gilding remains intact, there is no damage to the pendent that I can see.   The pendent is suspended from a gilded unmarked made chain ≈ 17.0" in length of equal quality and condition.  The Pendent and Chain are in what appears to be the original off whit leatherette case which measures ≈ 4.0" by ≈ 2.5" the leatherette is free from damage except for a stain on the bottom of the case.  The cases interior is white with a purple velvet base that converts the case to a display easel.  Note: The room lighting made the purple velvet look blue in the photo, it is really purple. An exquisite piece of WW I Patriotic Jewelry.    Excellent
