Pre 1945 Toy Soldiers Of  B. Mussolini  Of Adolph Hitler

    Toy soldiers are not just for kids, folks from 9 - 90, buy sell and trade them. Most are very difficult find in any sort of displayable condition due to the amount of play they received.  During the period of the Third Reich a child may have one or two if they were lucky, and they played with them until the soldier was just a lump of metal simply because there was little money for their parents to buy them more.  Some of the most popular toy soldiers were those of the peoples heroes.  Today I am offering (1) Benito Mussolini and (1) Adolph Hitler and I suppose they are high enough in rank to qualify for "Hero Status at the time."  What is so impressive about these (2) is they are authentic and still have ≈ 95% of the original paint and show very little play.  Mussolini was made by Elastolin and Hitler has a makers mark I am unfamiliar with.  Both are made from non-ferrous metal, and to err on the positive we have to assume the paint contains lead so they would not be safe for a child.  Both are ≈ 8.2 cm in height.    Excellent -

Shooting Chain With (3) Medals

Shooting awards have become highly collectible.  They are beautiful, nicely made and quite often they are also unique.  Most have ultra fine ornate enameling loaded with a multitude of colors. It is not un common to will find a single award for one event, but it is rare to find multiple awards to an individual.  Also it is even rarer to find these awards all chained together.  This particular grouping might be from Bavarian??  This is supposition on my part solely based on the crows on the end attachment pins. The overall length of ≈ 21 cm ( ≈ 8 inches ) and it includes (3) awards.  While viewing the photo from left to right (1) is a 10 year Membership Award Cross and the next (2) are competition shooting awards.  The (2) end attachment pins have oval oak leave wreaths with a gilded circular green enameled centers with a crown on each.  The enameling on the entire award is perfect.  Not chips, cracks or dings.  The (2) competition awards are each made from (2) piece construction.  The white enameling does not have those black flecks that are  characteristic of the pre 1945 enamel.  This set has all the frosting also and the correct chain is stippled and has begun to take on some patina.  I cannot determine the era of this shooting chain because there are no identification marks.  A beautiful shooting chain with white and green enamel.  This would augment a nice hunting cutlass display or simply mounted in a case by itself.   Mint
